Call for Applicants: Herstory Associate Director/ New Position
Herstory Writers Workshop, an organization devoted to creating grassroots literature that can empower people and communities to change hearts, minds, and policies, is seeking a seasoned part-time associate director with a strong track record in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, program, and partnership development.

The new hire will join our founder and executive director in the stewardship and implementation of our 25 th anniversary special programming and projects, engaging vulnerable and isolated communities in the arena of immigrant, racial, criminal, health, educational, and environmental justice, as we enter our second quarter century.
We are particularly seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in writing and/or literature, representing the communities we serve.
This will be a three day a week position with the opportunity to grow it to full time, with a starting salary of 45 to 50k, depending on level of experience, including health benefits.
The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running, in sharing responsibility for smooth operation of the organization and for staff supervision – with guidance from the Executive Director.

The associate director will join our executive and artistic director in:

Project and Partnership Design: Must excel in ability to think outside the box, take in opportunities and create viable cutting edge program structures. Must come with a portfolio of accomplishments in this area.

Fundraising and Development

Staff Supervision: Delegation and follow through. Flexible work style to relate to nontraditional employees and facilitators in the field.

Written and Oral Communication Skills

Capacity to Envision Outcomes while Responding to Current Needs: Follow through with implementation design and roll out.
