Fredericka (Ricki) Butler

Fredericka (Ricki) Butler spent over 20 years as a New York State educator. She served as a school counselor and school administrator with a particular emphasis on student support and community engagement. Ricki’s experiences in diverse school districts encouraged her to focus on restorative and social justice in education. A life-long learner who continually seeks to disrupt oppression and advocate for marginalized student populations, Ricki is currently pursuing her PhD in social justice in education. Her dissertation focuses on advocacy for Black parents and students in the face of systemic racism in education. Ricki is eager to apply her skills, knowledge, energy, and passion for equity and access in education through consulting and facilitating restorative justice and anti-racism training.
