What We Do

Working at the intersection of art, healing, and action with the goal of changing hearts, minds, and policies, Herstory Writers Network designs and delivers in-person and online memoir writing workshops and facilitator training to a wide range of people in a vast array of settings. Our school, carceral justice, and community programs, along with our workshop facilitator training, internship opportunities, and public events form the core of what we do.

We offer workshops and facilitator training in a variety of accessible formats, while remaining committed to our signature pedagogy. Whether working with women in a county jail, second graders in an underserved school, court-involved young people at a law school, Spanish speakers online, or with countless other groups and communities, Herstory tailors its workshops to meet the needs of participants and partner organizations.
