What Are We Posed to Do With or About Corruption?

Knono

Painting by Gwynne Duncan

I don’t really know where to start. It seems like this kind of thing would happen to me every time I went to jail. I am type 2 diabetic and I was under the impression that the jail would have the insulin that I take. Unfortunately, not in Adams County in Colorado.

If my sugar levels are too high I can go into what they call a “diabetic coma.” The first time it happened I was in a coma 37 days. The normal level is between 120 to 140. This particular day it was over 200. “Scary.”

To me it was like 24 hours that I was asleep but it was 37 days. When I came out of the coma, I realized that I was now having other new complications such as high blood pressure, low pulse, and a few other things that I don’t really understand. I also contracted HIV. How was this possible? Don’t let your mind wonder.

The day that changed my life was July 1st, 2013. I had been out with my friends the night before. Drinking, having a good assed time, living it up. Then I loaded up my 3 daughters, Armani, Audrina, and Cadance. My dad gave the girls a big hug and kiss. I don’t think that he knew that it would be the last time that he saw them

Fatigue is the number one cause of auto death. The trip from Austin, Texas to Thornton, Colorado is something like 26 hours one way.

When I woke up in the hospital, the doctor that broke the bad news to me got his jaw broke. Then I was arrested and taken to jail.
