Dathonie Pinto

Dathonie Pinto has been writing since she was 12 years old and is completing her memoir about being a teen mother of four, illuminating the transformations that occurred in her life and the lives of her children when her oldest son was arrested for defending his brother against their father’s attack.   She is one of the strongest writers who have passed through the Herstory workshops and is a graduate of Herstory Institute for Teaching for Peace and Justice.   She worked with girls incarcerated at Rikers Island and is currently facilitating workshops for the women and girls incarcerated in Yaphank Correctional Facility.
