Francis Madi is a writer, actress, and community organizer, but more importantly, an immigrant from Venezuela. These experiences in the worlds of migration, art, politics and community have shaped her professional development throughout the years. She was most recently Manager of Advocacy at the New York Immigration Coalition, advocating for national and state legislation that would protect immigrants and refugees while empowering community members with resources and accessibility to protect themselves and their families. Her previous work experience also include organizing for the Arab American Association of NY and the Center for Ethnic, Racial and Religious understanding. She lives in Hempstead, NY and is currently enrolled in Herstory's Institute for Teaching for Peace and Justice.
